About Us
We are the original Union created to represent Wardrobe Workers and Child Actor Guardians.

We have over 100+ years of solidarity representing workers on film and television, and in live performance.
The heart and soul of this Union is our members, people who have come together as a collective unit. Our members are wardrobe workers and technicians, set costumers and tailors, child actor guardians, crafts artisans, dressers, stitchers and more. As Union members, workers are no longer just a group of individuals, but a powerful force united in solidarity. Our members still have their own strength, plus the strength of the whole group.
OUR MISSION
Local 764 is dedicated to the principles of trade unionism. The Union unites all wardrobe workers and child actor guardians in the New York City Area toward a common goal.
Our objectives are to unite all workers within our jurisdiction to improve the wages and hours of work, to increase our job security and to better our working conditions. To strengthen the labor movement and our collective bargaining we organize the unorganized, negotiate collective bargaining agreements and secure progressive legislation. Core to our values is advancing our economic, social and cultural interests, establishing peaceful and harmonious relations between our members and our employers, and increasing the stability of the industry.
We recognize the value of diversity in the workplace and commit to working with members and employers toward achieving work environments that reflect a diverse workforce. Every member is entitled to equal opportunity to work in a discrimination free and harassment free work environment.
PLACES WE WORK
Our geographical jurisdiction (the areas and locations where we work) is a 50-mile radius from Columbus Circle and all of Long Island for Motion Picture & Television projects. For Live Theater and Events we cover work in New York City, all of Long Island and parts of Westchester County.
