Wardrobe Supervisor: Paradise Square

Position starts immediately.  The Wardrobe Supervisor reports directly to Company Management, Stage Management, General Manager and the Costume Design Team. The Supervisors are directly responsible for managing the care and maintenance of the Production’s costume inventory, as well as managing the Dressing Crew who assist the actors throughout the performances and the Daywork Crew who perform daily maintenance on the costumes.

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Wardrobe Department and directly oversee the activities of the Dressing Crew and Daywork Crew
  • Schedule, book and manage the work of IATSE TWU Local 764 wardrobe employees as needed in Full Time and Part Time positions on the Dressing and Daywork crews:
    • 5 full-time dressers
    • 1 full-time laundry person
  • Create and subsequently maintain accurate and up-to-date Dressing Notes
  • Create and subsequently maintain laundry and dry-cleaning schedules with attention paid to Actor’s Equity Association’s rules regarding frequency of costume cleaning
  • Work with Directors, Stage Management and Designers to ensure the performance operates efficiently
  • Oversee the laundry, dry cleaning, maintenance and storage of the costumes
  • Creation of staffing schedules for the weekly operation of the Production
  • Provide Company and Production Management with scheduling, staffing and budgets for Special Events
  • Submit Weekly Payroll to Company Management (including tracking employees Sick Days)
  • Submit Weekly Petty Cash receipts to Company Management
  • Ensure all shop equipment is in good working order
  • Maintain, track and maximize the material inventory
  • Oversee Wardrobe and Costume logistics 
  • Perform emergency repairs and cleaning as needed
  • Maintain a safe working environment at all times by conforming to all established Safety Policies and Procedures; participate in all required safety classes
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Work collaboratively with the Wardrobe Team and all Departments working on the show
  • Maintain a flexible schedule for Special Events, Publicity and Put-In Dress Rehearsals
    • High School Diploma and or GED (Higher Education an asset)
    • Familiar with Backstage Work Environments and terminology
    • Self-motivated, team oriented and highly collaborative work style
    • Ability to effectively prioritize, execute and problem solve in a high-pressure environment and work efficiently within given time constraints
    • Able to sit, kneel, squat, stand, reach and bend
    • Able to climb stairs multiple times throughout a work shift
    • Frequently required to use repetitive hand motion
    • Carry up to 20lbs
    • Fluency in English
    • Computer proficient
    • Comfortable working with spreadsheets for weekly payroll
    • Must be flexible in work schedule including but not limited to: early morning hours, evenings, weekends and Holidays
    • Knowledge of Irish dance shoes helpful
