– Full-time Men’s Draper Position
– Full-time Stitcher Position
– Full-time Dyer Position

Costume Shop Season:  August 5, 2019 – May 29, 2020

Job Title: Tailor/Draper – Men’s Department

Requirements:

  • Excellent tailoring, draping, pattern making & cutting skills
  • Excellent organization & time management skills
  • Great communication skills
  • Knowledge & experience with men’s clothes/costumes
  • Good sewing skills; machine & hand sewing
  • Experience with ballet costumes & stretch fabric a plus
  • At least 2 years professional costume shop experience required
  • Please no “fashion designers”
  • Full time, union position; 35 hours a week

Responsibilities:        

Employee will be responsible for all draping, tailoring, pattern making and cutting for our men’s department, including all new productions and rebuilding & refurbishing of existing productions

Job Title: Dyer/Painter

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of all dyes & the capacity to color match using dye as a medium
  • Experience with dyeing all fiber types, & fabric types
  • Excellent organizational & time management skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Experience with fabric painting techniques
  • Full time, union position; 35 hours a week
  • Sewing skills a plus

Be prepared to show dyed samples, as well as any additional examples of your creative skills.  We will require each qualified applicant to perform a dye test during the interview process, which entails being given a small cut of fabric to match on site.

Job Title: Stitcher

Requirements:

  • Excellent sewing skills; machine & hand sewing
  • Excellent dressmaking, and/or tailoring, & cutting skills
  • Experience with ballet costumes & stretch, chiffon, organza, & tulle fabrics a plus
  • Good communication skills
  • Good organization & time management skills
  • At least 2 years professional costume shop experience required
  • Please no “Fashion Designers”
  • Full time, union position; 35 hours a week
