Full-Time Dressers Stitchers Full-Time Laundry

Dressers:
Requirements:
Membership or registration with IATSE TWU Local 764
Experience as a Dresser in a professional live theatrical workplace
Pre-production and tech experience is an asset
Familiar with theatrical backstage work environments and terminology
Ability to effectively prioritize, execute and problem-solve in a high-pressure environment
Work efficiently within given time constraints.
Knowledge of quick change methods, costume prep, maintenance, and repair. Knowledge of dancewear is a plus.
Proficient hand-sewing skills
Ability to sit, stand, kneel, squat, reach and bend
Frequently required to use repetitive motion
Able to climb stairs multiple times throughout a work shift
Able to carry up to 30 lbs.
Computer proficiency and note construction experience
Ability to maintain a flexible schedule for tech, show run, special events, publicity, and rehearsals which can include but is not limited to early morning hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Role and Responsibilities:
Originate a dressing track on a fast-paced dance show with busy quick change choreography.
Perform pre-show costume prep/checks and presets, run a show track dressing multiple performers during the performance, and restore/store costume pieces at the end of each performance.
Perform any cleaning, maintenance, or repairs as needed.
Assist the Wardrobe Supervisor and Assistant Wardrobe Supervisor in setting up and organizing a new production. Keeping the overall maintenance of the costumes and the general integrity of the costume design throughout the run of the production as set forth by the designers and management.
Construct and maintain accurate, detailed, and up-to-date dresser track notes.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
Collect and prepare costumes for specialty laundry or dry cleaning
Maintain a safe working environment at all times by abiding by all backstage rules and established safety policies and procedures determined by the employer.
Participate in all required training and safety classes.
Work collaboratively within the Wardrobe Department and all other show departments.

Stitchers:
4 to 8 hour calls (pre-production stitching is project-based and as needed. This is not guaranteed long-term full or part-time)
Must be able to alter and repair costumes. Specialty rigging or construction may be required.
Costume-building, tailoring, and experience with stretch materials are preferred

Full-Time Laundry:
4 – 8 hour calls (position can be split if needed)
Previous show laundry experience preferred.
Knowledge of fabrics and specialty laundry care
Ability to carry a laundry basket of wet or dried laundry up or down a short flight of stairs.
