In consideration of the situation created by the COVID-19 crisis and recognizing that Governor Cuomo moved the State of New York Democratic Primary from April 28th to June 23rd to protect the health of all New Yorkers, the Local 764 Executive Board unanimously voted to reschedule elections.
Nominations will now be held at a Regular Membership Meeting rescheduled for June 18th at 2:30 pm, at the Local 764 offices at 545 West 45th Street, 2nd Floor, New York, NY 10036, with ballots out to the membership the week of June 22nd, and the announcement and swearing in of officers will be at a Special Membership Meeting on July 20th at 6 pm.
The time that a member in good standing who wishes to apply for a waiver of the meetings requirement (four (4) regular membership meetings in two (2) years) is extended to 1:30 pm on June 18th (one hour before the scheduled nominations at 2:30 pm). Waivers must be in writing to the Executive Board and may be submitted either by letter or email to [email protected] .
For those members who anticipate not being able to attend in person on June 18th, but who would like to accept a nomination for office, acceptance letters may be filed with the President prior to or at the June 18th meeting. Acceptance letters must be in writing and may be submitted either by letter or email to [email protected].
