What is the difference between Quarter dues and Work Dues?

Quarter dues, currently $58 per quarter, are the dues that pay for your membership in the IATSE (the International). Work dues are 2% of your gross salary (deducted from your check if you sign dues check-off) and are what finances the day-to-day operation of Local 764. If you do not sign a dues check-off, you will be billed for these dues.

Why do I have to pay a Minimum Assessment?

Local 764, as a Labor Union, has an expectation of our members working, earning money, and paying 2% of those earnings to the local in dues.  The local has set the minimum amount of dues each member should pay in a calendar year as $160.  This is 2% of $8,000.  Any member not earning $8,000 in a calendar year will be assessed $160 or whatever part of that equals 2% of $8,000.
All members are informed of the minimum assessment at the time of their registration.

Why am I being charged a late fee?

Dues invoices, which go during the month before the first day of each Quarter (January 1st, April 1st, July 1st and October 1st). The due date for those dues are the 10th day of that month (January 10th, April 10th, July 10th and October 10th). If your dues are not paid by that date, you will be issued a $5 late fee.
